I heard a professional talking recently, quite confidently, about how no one will ever make seven figures on their own and why it is crucial to have a team you can count on.

She went on to talk about how no one is an island and how a one-person business that wants financial success is “ludicrous.”

I have made seven figures on my own as a solopreneur. Solo. Unaided. Stag.

I didn't feel any need to go over and correct her, and I thought about the mentality she was working from.

What you think you become. What you believe becomes your reality. If you want to talk about needing a team and spend time building a team (and all of the responsibility that comes with it), then you probably won't be focusing on making seven figures on your own.

Real success is going to mean something different to everyone.

For me, the success I found as a solopreneur afforded me the things I wanted most.

I wanted to build my own life and create my own schedule that wasn’t found within a 9 to 5 model.

I didn’t want a ceiling on the money I could make or have to ask permission from a boss to go after more opportunities.

If I wanted to rent out a large AirBNB for a big group of friends for extended weekends that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it so that we could create real memories, I did.

As my mom ages and faces the unknown, I know that I can foot the bill no matter what happens.

When unexpected financial opportunities come available, I have the cash and capital to jump in.

I made a small list of important milestones that being a solopreneur has created for me:

Paid my own way through college

Bought and sold over a dozen properties

Retired my spouse

Debt-free for years

Six figures in savings

Taxes paid without stress

Choose who I work with

And to be honest, I feel like I am just getting started.

And so are so many others.

In fact, the billion-dollar company of one is coming faster than you think.
